Exploring the Route – Fire

I am trekking the routes to best prepare for barriers we may encounter along the way.

First up, Fire!

Creating this site has been a great experience to help develop the Fire route basics. I wanted to focus on getting my site up and functional knowing that it may turn into a Water route post Go Live. (The flexibility to edit your map is incredibly beneficial although not always needed.)

– New Moon Phase –

I aligned my start date with the New Moon in April. I prepped my ritual space (my kitchen island), called my circle, lit my dressed candle, and thought about what I really wanted to accomplish. I free wrote by candle light aka I free typed in OneNote by candle light. Still magical. Out flowed post ideas, page ideas, content for the routes, what I wanted on the About page, and other random details.

From there, I used my project management and lean training experience to design my goal. I needed a specific target with tangible details.

I want to have an about page, category (routes) page, a blog page (with two posts) all live by the end of the month so that people can find information about my new journey.

– First Quarter –

Now that I knew where I wanted to go and when I wanted to get there, I started to map the path keeping in mind I wanted to reach my destination in one cycle. I broke down milestones that needed to be surpassed to move forward. I meditated on the sigil I created at the New Moon (“Take Action”). I started to track my tasks in the project management tool I’m trialing. I revisited my free writing along the way for ideas. I relit my dressed candle and checked in with my goal.

I’ve added to what I consider “live” and gone above what I asked of myself (scope creep is something to watch out for with every project… more on this when I discuss the Third Quarter).

To be continued…

I have the dotted lines for the Full Moon, Third Quarter, and Dark Moon phases. I’ll be filling you in on how they go as I complete them!
